Accurate! Weather Forecasting

The computer models have been going crazy over the last week, trying to figure out if the coming storm will go out to sea or slam into Connecticut.

The problem is a high pressure area pushing down from the north, not letting the storm get here.

Two feet of snow are predicted for Washington DC

As of noon today, the forecast was for flurries.

Then, later in the afternoon I was out splitting stove wood and I noticed the following:

The sun had disappeared behind a layer of stratus clouds.
Birds were flocking to the feeders.
The wind stopped.
Every sound seemed to echo.

All signs of low pressure.

The throbbing in my ears as the pressure dropped seem to confirm what was happening.

And now the forecast is for 5 to 8 inches of snow tomorrow.

Learn to recognize the signs, and your ability to forecast short-term weather conditions will be better than the computers.
