Morey

The sun was shining, the snow sparkling and crunchy, so off I went to Morey Pond on a late winter's morning.

Walking in from the road

Snowmobiles had packed down a nice trail

Lots of animal tracks.  This one is a vole.

These beech buds are starting to open.  One week until the groundhog announces spring!

Winter is Wonderful!

The sun showed up today, so off we went for a walk in the fresh air.  We walked to the post office.

Stepped outside, and the barn was framed by blue skies

This is what remains of the old School Pond

Cascade Brook was swarming with mallards.  Someone nearby feeds them

Took the long way around, behind the church

Sometimes Both

Sometimes it was snowing this afternoon, sometimes the sun was shining.  Sometimes both.  Went for a walk to Messer Pond in New London (NH).  This time we walked on the pond.  Ice is nice.

At last!

After a miserable, wet autumn, the conditions were right (for a few hours) for some skiing.  There is a solid base, and last night an inch of powder fell.

Vole tracks.  Lots of voles, and deer mice, and weasels live here
